Description
The theme is, in a word, yes. In twenty-two short stories, desire and generous consent are explored from queer, trans, Black, brown, and disabled perspectives--a chorus of voices historically excluded from romance narratives. A nonbinary sexworker with psychic gifts allows an older woman to connect with her long-lost love. A divorcée downloads a dating app and finds herself bathed in perfect moonlight. Two Modern Orthodox Jewish women cross a magical threshold on Shavuot. An enslaved couple jumps the broom and can see the future, which is freedom. The lovers freely choose each other, and along the way, they choose themselves too.
