This is a coming-of-age story, beautifully rendered in colored pencil, about a black, queer girl trying to understand her connection to her faith at a feminist, Christian sleepaway camp. The ordeal is physically and emotionally grueling, as Charlie deals with awful counselors and oblivious cishet, white camp mates. Together with her new closeted trans friend, Charlie pushes back against the group's accepted norms and the insidiousness of White Feminism, and discovers herself among the sweeping vistas of the mountains.
