Rosi and her brother Bobo have lived in Fredtown all their life with their fred-parents. All the kids in the town were taken away from their parents a couple days after birth except for two. Rosi and Edwy were both born on the same day and taken away on the same day of their birth, and no one knows why. Soon it is time for all the kids to be returned to their real parents. Rosi takes charge on the plane to try and comfort the little kids, but it's no use when they land. Edwy asked Rosi if they could look out for each other in their new home; even though she hadn't spoken to him in a year she said yes. When the plane lands, a mob of parents came to pick them out of their seats one by one and Rosi found herself being dragged home by an elderly lady and brought to a near to falling down house. The next day Edwy takes her out into the woods and shows her a burnt village that he found. They get chased b a group of men and Edwy is captured trying to destract them so Rosi could get away. Will she be able to keep her promise?

Once they find a way to go through them an adventure begins.

But is this new government any better than the old one, and is Luke and all third children really free?
